According to the company spokesman, about 90,000 vehicles in Japan are planned to be recalled by Toyota due to an engine part problem. The recall includes models like Lexus and Crown, spokesman Mieko Iwasaki said. Further details will be declared after Toyota submits documents to the Japanese government on Monday.

Earlier Thursday, the automaker considered issuing a recall and investigating engine problems which affects 270,000 vehicles globally. The cars have small valve springs made from low-quality metal that could crack that is potentially causing engines to stop.

However, the company had not received any reports of injuries and fatalities related to the issue. In most cases, the driver only experience abnormal idling or simply engine noise. There are about 137,000 vehicles which will be affected in the United States. Only cars from model years earlier than 2010 are involved.
