Bears’ Defeat Will Not Hinder Smith’s Extension of Contract

The National Football Conference championship game last weekend didn’t favor the Chicago Bear. Aside from the injury obtained by the quarterback, they were also defeated by the Green Bay Packers. The Super Bowl appearance is almost there but the Packers blocked their way. Because of what happened, there has been speculations that the contract of Lovie Smith might not be extended.
On the contrary, the speculations aren’t true. General manager Jerry Angelo said that an extension for Smith is in the works. “We very much want to extend Lovie, and the job that he’s done and the staff. Our focus, our intent is to extend Lovie, we wanted to wait until the season is over. That will be part of the business at hand in the next several weeks,” Angelo said.
“I love being the head football coach of the Chicago Bears every day. I’ve been here and hope to be there for many years to come,” Smith emphasized.
Super Bowl XLV is just not for them this time. However, for those who are looking forward to it, it would be held live at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas this coming February 6, 2011. Super Bowl 2011 live stream would be made available for those who can’t make it there.
