Fourteen year old Anamika Veeramani from North Royalton,Ohio brought home the bacon as she bagged the first prize at the 83rd Scripps National Spelling Bee and more than $40,000 in cash and prizes..

The eight grader goes to Incarnate Word Academy likes playing golf,dancing and wants to go to Harvard and be a cardiovascular surgeon in the future,according to Associated Press.

She looked calm with her hands behind her back after she spelled the winning word,the medical term “stromuhr”. She didn’t smile until after the trophy was presented.

Anamika Veerami became the third consecutive Indian-American champion and broke Ohio’s winning drought as she won the spelling contest after 46 years.

She outdid 274 other contestants and 11 M worldwide who competed in qualifying bees.

“It was too surreal,” she said. “It was an amazing experience. I usually have a poker face, so that’s what that was.”
