After the most talked death of the music legend, Michael Jackson, Dr. Conrad Murray, the physician responsible for the health of the late superstar, is back at court for a pretrial hearing. This will determine when he will present himself on court and what are the things not prohibited for him to do.
The primary thing on the agenda will be his fight for his California medical license. Dr. Murray has been on hiatus from medical practice in the state, however, his legal counselor, Ed Chernoff stated that revocation of his California license would most likely have domino effect on his practices in different states. Dr. Conrad Murray is licensed to practice medicine in Texas and Nevada.
According to the documents presented by Chernoff Friday said that both Nevada and Texas had reached to an agreement to allow Murray to practice medicine as long as he abides with the judge’s stipulation regarding administration of anesthetics such as propofol. He is not allowed to administer the Propofol, the drug which was blamed in Michael Jackson’s unexpected death.
The music legend, died on 25th of June after Dr. Murray, administered propofoland other drugs to aid in Jackson’s sleeping.
Months after police investigation concluded and charged Murray with manslaughter. However, Dr. Conrad Murray insisted that nothing he did should have contributed in Jackson’s death.
Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor will be asked by the state attorney general to overrule another judge’s decision that allowed Murray to keep practicing. He will also take up pretrial matters including setting up a schedule for a preliminary hearing which could be something of a mini-trial to determine whether Murray should be held for trial. He remains free on $75,000 bail.
Murray has continued to practice medicine in Houston and Las Vegas. Last month, the cardiologist made news when he stabilized a woman who fell unconscious and had a weak pulse on a US Airways flight from Houston.
