Wakestock Begins Its Wakeboarding And Music Event – The annual three-day wakeboard and music festival at Wakestock has already started in Cardigan Bay. World-class wakeboarding competitors will be competing at Wakestock.

This is the 11th festival holds a world-standard wakeboarding contests by day and bands and DJs by night. There are about 15,000 campers every night at the site. The bands who will perform at Abersoch are Feeder, Plan B, Maximo Park, The Ting Tings.

The wakeboarding competition involves riding a short, board water ski like a surfboard and performing tricks like spins of up to 180 degrees. A purpose-built rail has been put up at Pwlhei marina for wakeboard riders to use in performing their tricks.

Wakestock’s 10th anniversary has been hailed as one of Europe’s largest wakeboard music festivals.

Police Officers have already warned they will be monitoring on under-age drinking throughout the weekend. No food or drink can be taken into the site because food and alcohol will be on sale inside the venue. However, 500ml of water in a plastic container with unbroken seal is allowed.
